Renting an Alamo hire car to pick up in Arizona is hassle-free, and you have the opportunity to select a model to meet you and your family or party's needs. It is the most convenient and economical way to travel while you are enjoying your holiday.
Arizona has some of the most spectacular scenery and natural attractions in the United States, but its desert landscape means that the only way to travel is by car. Happily, Alamo provides the most competitive car hire in Arizona, with a wide selection of reliable, up-to-date vehicles available to collect from most major cities and airports, including Tucson International Airport, Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, Scottsdale Municipal Airport and Mesa Gateway Airport. Simply book online, pick up your car, put on your seatbelt and go.
Arizona's most popular attraction, of course, is the Grand Canyon National Park. The 227-mile long canyon is carved out by the Colorado River, and reaches up to 18 miles wide and one mile deep. A day's drive from Phoenix and a shorter drive from Flagstaff, you'll need to plan your journey and decide whether you want to visit the more accessible South Rim on US Route 180 or the more remote North Rim via Arizona Route 67. You can also take a helicopter ride over the canyon, hike down into the canyon itself, or even go white water rafting along the river. The canyon walls have a multi-hued glow as the sun moves across the sky that has to be seen to be believed.
Close by, the stunning blue-green waters of the Havasu Falls can be found on the Havasupai Indian Reservation. Reached via an eight-mile hike, the Havasu bathing pools are shaded by Cottonwood trees and provide an idyllic picnic spot.
Also a short drive from Flagstaff is the Barrington Meteor Crater in the Colorado Valley. 4000 feet wide, 570 feet deep and 40,000 years old, the crater is an awesome sight and is the best-preserved meteor crater on earth. From there you can continue into the Colorado Plateau towards Monument Valley, which is open to self-drive tours. This eerie, almost Martian desert landscape is nevertheless familiar from many iconic western movies, and the dramatic buttes, red oxidised mesas and breathtaking rock formations add up to the experience of a lifetime. Also in North-Eastern Arizona is the Petrified Forest National Park, and once again the park access road allows you to drive through this strange and unearthly natural wonder.
With so much to see and experience, reliable car rental is essential. Choosing Alamo will give you peace of mind and allow you to relax and enjoy your holiday to the full.
